Strawberry Milk Shake


This summer beat the heat.. Drink plenty of water, juice and tender Coconut.. Stay Healthy and enjoy the Summer!!

Strawberry Milk Shake:

You will need :
Strawberry- 200 grams
Milk- 200 ml
Ice cubes- 5- 7 cubes
Sugar - as per taste

Method:
1. Blend the strawberry, Ice cubes along with sugar till the strawberry is mashed properly.
2. When its done add cold milk and whip it.
3. Serve Chilled and Enjoy the drink...

Sprouted Moong Dal Upma

I had sprouted moong dal in which i wanted to make curry and i suddenly something clicked in my mind.. thought why don't i make Upma out of it!.. i tired it and it came out well.. so thought of sharing this recipe in the blog. Sprouted moong dal is very rich in carbohydrated and protein and taste is also good.. Try this and Enjoy!


Ingredients:
Rava 1 Cup
Sprouted moong dal 1/2 Cup
Onion medium sized 2 Cubed
Tomato medium sized 1 cubed
Cumin Seeds 1/2 spoon
Chilly Powder 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seed 1/4 teaspoon
Grount nut 2 teaspoons
Chana dal 2 teaspoons
Greated cococnut 3 teaspoons
Curry leaves
Water 2 1/2 Cup
Salt as per taste
Oil 3 tea spoons

Method:
1. In a wok add oil when it gets heated add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
2. Add cumin seeds.
3. Add groundnut, channa dal, curry leaves and fry for 2 min.
4. And onion and fry them till golden brown.
5. Then add the tomato and fry them for till tender.
6. Now add the sprouted moon dal and fry for 1 min.
7. Now add the water and let it boil for 3-4 min.
8. Now add the Roasted semolina/ rava and stir it .
9. Low down the flame and close a lid on the wok, let the rava cook in the steam for about 3 min stir in between.
10. Add the grated cococnut and Enoy eating.

Molke Ullikalu Saru & Ragi Mudde



ರಾಗಿ ಮುದ್ದೆ with ಮೊಳಕೆ ಉಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಳುಸಾರು aka sprouted Horse-gram curry is one of Karnataka's favorite... Mostly prepared in the southen most part of Karnataka like Mysore, Mandya, Bengaluru, Kolar, Tumkur etc. Mostly eaten by Gowda community in Karnataka.
Ragi is very rich in calcium and Horse gram in protein. Its a veggies delight. Making the curry is little tedious for a novice cook but nevertheless its very tasty and nutritious.

Ingredients to make Sprouted Horse gram Curry:
1 cup sprouted horse gram
1 tomato diced
2 onion diced
Brinjal 1 medium sized
Potato 1 medium sized
Garlic 6-7 cloves
Ginger 1/4 inch
Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon
Coriander seeds 1 tea spoon
Sambar powder 1/2 tea spoon
Grated Coconut 1/4 cup
Garam masala powder 1/4 tea spoon
Pepper powder 1/4 tea spoon.
Pinch of turmeric powder.
Tamarind 1 inch
Mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon
Curry leaves.
Salt as per taste.

For Masala:
Roast 1 onion, garlic 6-7 cloves, cumin and coriander seeds with 1/2 spoon of oil.
When cooled grind it with sambar powder, coconut, garam masala Powder, turmeric, pepper powder, tamarind and make a paste out of it.

Method:
1. Steam the sprouted grams, tomato, onion, brinjal, potato with salt.
2. In a low bottom pan add oil when it splutters add mustard seeds.
3. Add the remaining onion and curry leaves and saute for about 4 minutes.
4. Add the masala into it and saute for the next 6-8 min till the raw smell goes off.
5. Now its time to add all the ingreadents which we steamed in step 1 like horsegrams, brinjal, potato, tomato and onion.
6. Boil for about 5-7 min.
7. Server Hot and Enjoy Maadi!!!

Peas Bath:


This is an amazing recipe that you must try... I'm not saying this because i happened to make it..


Ingredients:
Rice 2 cup
1/4 cup Green peas (I've used dried peas soaked in water overnight)
2 medium sized onion
2 small tomato diced
Garlic 6-8 cloves
Ginger 1/4 inch
Jeera powder 1 tea spoon
Garam masala powder 1/4 tea spoon
Green chillies 3 (you can also use red chilly powder)
Oil 4 tea spoon
Salt as per taste.

Method:
1. Grind 1 onion, chillies, jeera powder, garlic, ginger, garam masala and keep it aside.
2. Now chop 1 onion length wise.
3. In a Pressure cooker pan add oil and heat it.
4. Add the chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
5. Add the tomatoes and stir fry them.
6. Then add the masala paste and fry till the smell goes off.
7. Add the peas and fry for about 2 min.
8. Add the rice, water and salt as per taste.
9. Now pressure cook till 3-4 whistle.
9. Serve hot and Enjoy maadi!!!
